Ingredients:

Yellow Moong Dal (Soak overnight) 1 Cup
Ghee 1 Cup
Sugar 1 1/2 Cup
Cardamom Powder 1 Teaspoon
Grated Khoya 1/4 Cup
Dry Fruits (Cashew nuts, Raisins) 1/4 Cup
Hot Water / Milk (as needed)

 

Direction:

  • Wash and soak Moong Dal in enough water overnight. Drain water and add to blender to make a coarse paste. Do not add water while making the dal paste.
  • Heat a pan on low heat, add ghee and dal paste. Cook the dal for at least 1 hour on low flame, stirring continuously when it gets a nice golden colour and the ghee starts to leave from the dal.
  • Add hot water/milk (helps in puffing and softening the dry moong dal).
  • Add sugar and mix well.
  • Cook well till the sugar melts. Add dry foots, grated khoya and cook for 5 minutes.
  • When the ghee is leaving out the moong dal, finally add some cardamom powder and mix well.

Serve hot Moong Dal Halwa and yes obviously with love :)
